CLUB AWARDS
The presentation of the Club awards takes place at an annual dinner. They commemorate the lives of Old Salvos tragically lost too early.
Requiescat in pace.
The Glenn Phaure Memorial Shield (Captain of the Year)

It was said of Glenn that once he tackled you, you stayed tackled. Glenn went to the school in the 1950's and became one of Old Salvos most popular members, playing for many years including the 1st XI until his untimely death from cancer in his 40's.
This award is presented in his memory to the captain who the committee considers has been the most effective that season - not just in achieving football success, but adhering to selection policy, quality of administration and promoting the spirit and long term success of the club.
The awards dinner is often attended each year by one or more of Glenn's three children - Leo, Louis and Louise - who present the trophy in his memory.
