CLUB AWARDS
The presentation of the Club awards takes place at an annual dinner. They commemorate the lives of Old Salvos tragically lost too early.
Requiescat in pace.
The Frank O'Connor & Bruno Castagnetti Memorial Trophy
(Players Player of the year)
In the space of a few months, the club lost two of its members. From different age groups, but equally committed to the club and ever popular members.
Frank had battled cancer for some time before his passing. He was a long standing member and one of those every club relies upon to turn his hand to anything to help; whether playing, captain, committee member or filling in for a missing referee, he always had the club's best interest at heart.
Bruno was only 34 when he passed away following diagnosis wirth a brain tumour. A 1st XI player for many years, Bruno combined strength and tactical awareness - he won many tackles with those telescopic legs!
The awards dinner has been regularly attended by Frank's widow, Jenny, and Bruno's widow, Sarah Abrahams.
The award is presented to the player who received the most man of the match awards as voted by each team immediately after each game.
